Early Summer Flowers

A bearded iris - one of my favourite garden flowers.

Cornus kousa - those 'petals' are really leafy bracts - the real flowers are clustered in a  sphere in the centre, yet to open
Rubus parviflorus - large attractive flowers but it's invasive in my dry soil - I have to hack it back every year.

  1. The Iris is almost the exact colour of mine which is perfumed and almost finished unfortunately. Not heard of the Cornus but it is a handsome plant. Are the Rubus fruits edible?

  2. I think they are probaby edible - but not worth eating
