Splashes of Exotic Colour and a Dainty Native

Not many tulips left now .... so spring is pretty much over for another year ....

.... and the rhododendrons are looking a little weather-beaten. A late frost last week didn't do them any favours ......
... but did this wood vetch Vicia sylvatica, a tough native wild flower, no harm at all. I grew if from a seed  collected from a plant growing on the cliffs at Port Mulgrave on the Yorkshire coast. It's a charming plant.
